Hours Description: Full Time

 The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 190 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and the wholesaling/manufacturing arm, Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL).

We are currently in search of a Health & Safety Coordinator to support and monitor health and safety compliance for Clearview Co-op and Beausejour Co-op.  We are seeking a self-motivated, ambitious, and energetic individual who will be involved in all aspects of health and safety. The coordinator works with senior management and key stakeholders, to ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to as required by legislation. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • oversee the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the Co-operatives occupational health and safety (OH&S) program
  • evaluate the effectiveness of the OH&S program to identify gaps and make recommendations for improvement and sustainability
  • Coordinate staff training and development pertaining to safety
  • Lead Safety Audits, provide assistance with safety investigation process, act as safety resource to all staff and onsite personnel


  • Previous experience and formal Health and Safety training is an asset
  • Self-motivated
  • Computer savvy
  • Excellent leadership, instructional, interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation, and teamwork

The successful candidate will possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and a vehicle for travel between Beausejour and Clearview Co-op locations.
